Speech & Language Therapy for Adults who Stammer
Living with a stammer can affect work, relationships, confidence and everyday conversations. Therapy can be the key to reclaiming your sense of self, lift the weight and help you to enjoy communicating.
I provide evidence-based, stammer-affirming therapy that focuses on what matters most to you—not anyone else's idea of how you should speak.
What does stammer-affirming therapy mean?
It means therapy isn't about forcing fluency or eliminating every moment of stammering. Instead, we work together to reduce the impact stammering has on your life and help you communicate with greater confidence, flexibility and self-acceptance.
Stammering can affect far more than your speech
You might avoid phone calls, dread meetings, feel exhausted from trying to hide your stammer or wonder if speaking will always feel this difficult.
We can work together to identify and work towards meaningful goals.
For example: feel confident speaking in meetings, speak more freely in social situations, make phone calls, prepare for interviews, reduce effort in hiding your stammer.
About me:
I understand that every person's experience of stammering is different and strive to provide a therapy space that feels collaborative, safe and guides you towards your best hopes.
I have worked for the NHS and in New Zealand since I qualified in 2017 with a Masters in Speech and Language Sciences from UCL.
